Walking down the canal, we find the fish market, a warehouse with marble tables where fishermen and merchants have been trading seafood for centuries. Many old streets filled with shops and cozy restaurants stretch until the pier.

Going east along the beach walk, hotels, restaurants and shops overlook the coast and the sandy beach. Rocks have been put down in the water a few hundred yards from the beach, keeping the waters low and quiet, making it a safe haven for children and elder swimmers.

Beach volley is very popular, and the main court between the Grand Hotel and the skyscraper has a grandstand, hosting international tournaments in summer. A new trendy sport is beach tennis, while regular tennis can be playes at numerous location throughout the town.

Usually, regular buses are not equipped for wheelchair trasportation, but some towns offer in alternative free shuttles for residents. Touristed areas and parks offer their own services for people with special needs. Make sure to call in advance and arrange with them the best trasportation option.
