In Romagna, when people think nightlife, they think Rimini. While most of the locals don’t actually go there very often, it is like the hub of nightlife, comparable to what Hollywood Boulevard is in L.A.. All that you can find in smaller beach communities, the restaurants, the bars, the arcades, the pubs, the shops, is multiplied by the size of Rimini’s beach walk and by its fame and popularity. Long traffic lines in summer weekend nights are common, when people from all over Italy and beyond flock to town.

The neighborhoods and villages at north and south ends of the center (Marina Centro) are more like the smaller beach communities of Romagna, more family oriented and quiet. The central beachfront boulevard (Lungomare Augusto) and its parallel street one block inland (Viale Vespucci) is a burgeoning area with countless pubs, arcades, restaurants, disco-pubs and bars. Some are open all night long, some open at dawn, so you can actually party 24 hours a day. Despite all that, it is almost always a safe area and plain fun.

Most Rimini’s discoes are on the hills west of the town, so you need some transportation from the beach areas. Some discoes offer shuttle service, and there’s the Blue Line: a double-decker free bus connecting several discoes to the main water front area.

There are several pubs in Ravenna and Faenza where people go, especially on weekends nights.
There is one disco in Ravenna, the “Kubrick”, open on Weekend nights in winter.
During summer, the excitement of the nightlife is all on the beach towns, where clubs and bars are open every night, sometimes until late (4 a.m.). By car or by taxi, the closest places are Marina di Ravenna and Marina Romea. Their beach areas are less developed and there’s more open space, and the few pubs and disco directly on the beach are becoming a favorite spot for the young local crowd.

There are many many choices for dining out in Cesenatico and around: literally hundreds of restaurants can be found on the main beachfront street and surrounding blocks, on both sides of the canal and in any neighbourhood.
The small restaurants on the canal mostly serve seafood, cooked Romagnan style, and reservations are advised, especially during busy weekend days. Many pubs and bars on the beachfront offer more international, on-the-go style fares. Best kept secret joints are usually a few blocks away from the crowded areas. Look on our reviews section for some.

The canal area thrives with shops, bars and music at night, and it makes a great walk in a joyful setting. Music stops at midnight, and most bars in the old city start to close at that time. On the beachfront, things run later and there are more activities for kids and young adults.

There’s a Luna Park in Valverde, a small beach community part of Cesenatico city limits, on its south end. Many smaller arcades and mini-karts parks can be found on the beachfront.

The only remaining disco in Cesenatico is the Energy Paradise, at the south end, (Viale Michelangelo, 2 – phone 0547-86822). There are many pubs which feature live music or host djs. A favorite for live music is the Irish pub Madigan’s, at the north end and about a mile from the water, in Via Mazzini, 176.
